One Vision, One Dare, 51K Views: The Making of “Wicked Hot”

It’s wild to think the latest video I collabed on all started with me just walking down a hallway.

One day I was early (yes, early!!) to my recording session. James was wrapping up his session with Teyonno and another creator. As I was heading in, Teyonno stopped me and said, “Hey, you’re Brit!” He told me he’d reached out before and wanted to work together someday—he was interested in film and talked about wanting to get his music into TV shows, video games, all of it. I gave him a quick rundown on the best practices, thinking that might be the end of it for the moment.

Months later, we finally linked up in the studio. We recorded a single. Then months after that, an album. Then days after that, we did a Black Valve collab interview (still sitting in the vault 👀). And then, out of the blue, he texted me something that really showed just how much of a visionary he is.

On the phone he told me he shouldn’t love the song “Wicked Hot” as much as he does… so I dared him to make a video for it.

And let’s just say—I love people who take risks.

Fast forward: the video has already hit 51,000 views in just over a week. It’s made for kids, so the comments are turned off on YouTube, but the reactions I have gotten so far mean everything.

I’m just happy I got to witness one person’s vision turn into something real—and they’re only getting started.
